Karen Frattali, a long time resident of Chester County, Pennsylvania, has been a part of the painting community for over 30 years.  Primarily a watercolorist, she dabbles in other media, such as pastel, mixed media.  Karen has degrees in education and received her early classical art training from Philadelphia College of Art.  Over the years, she has participated in international workshops with renowned painters of AWS and NWS credentials.  "After this much time, it is less about the art school and more about the art experiences", says Karen.  She has painted and photographed around the globe.  The many locations are captured in her painterly contemporary realism which are identifiable by her highly colorful, personal style.  Karen maintains numerous affiliations in the vast art community.  Among them: National Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Baltimore Watercolor Society and Transparent Watercolor Society of America as well as Watercolor Society of Alabama.  She has signature status in five different art organizations.  In the regional art leagues and organizations of higher learning, she periodically teaches workshops in watercolor painting.  She participates in national and regional exhibits and competitions.  She has been accepted into numerous international shows each year and sometimes awarded.  Her work is available in galleries and online, as well as in regional businesses.  She has received awards of recognition and is hanging in corporate and private collections around the country.  She has been involved in numerous group and solo shows over the years, in addition to the competition exhibitions around the country.  For a list of the competitions see the "Competition Calendar".
